Release order

When Sony shipped each Uncharted chapter in the US—Drake's Fortune (2007) through A Thief's End (2016), with Golden Abyss on Vita (2012) and The Lost Legacy (2017). Nathan Drake Collection and Legacy of Thieves Collection are optional remaster bundles—not separate must-play titles.

  • Modern path → Legacy of Thieves (Uncharted 4 + Lost Legacy) after Nathan Drake Collection (1–3)
  • Story-first → Golden Abyss (optional) → 1 → 2 → 3 → 4 → Lost Legacy
  • Skip Vita Golden Abyss if you only want mainline Drake on PS4/PS5/PC

One Drake saga: Golden Abyss (prequel) → Drake's Fortune → Among Thieves → Drake's Deception → A Thief's End → The Lost Legacy (Chloe and Nadine after Uncharted 4). Release order ships Golden Abyss after Uncharted 3.

Release order

Release order is when each Uncharted launched in the US (2007–2017)—Golden Abyss shipped after Uncharted 3. Story order follows fiction: Golden Abyss (optional prequel) → Drake's Fortune → Among Thieves → Drake's Deception → A Thief's End → The Lost Legacy. Collections remaster older games—they are not separate must-play titles.

Remaster path: Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection (1–3 on PS4) → Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection (4 + Lost Legacy on PS5/PC). Story path: optional Golden Abyss → 1 → 2 → 3 → 4 → Lost Legacy. Shortcut: Legacy of Thieves alone if you only want the PS4-era finale—but you miss 1–3 character setup. Skip Fight for Fortune and Fortune Hunter.

Story & canon

Golden Abyss (PS Vita, 2012) is a prequel set before Drake's Fortune—first on Story order if you include it. It is optional: the main Drake arc (1–4) works without it. Hardware is Vita-only; many modern players skip it and start at Drake's Fortune via Nathan Drake Collection.

The Lost Legacy (2017) is a full campaign after Uncharted 4, starring Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross—not Nathan Drake. Play it last on Story order. It is bundled with Uncharted 4 in the Legacy of Thieves Collection. You can play it standalone, but Uncharted 2–4 give Chloe and Nadine better context.

Collections & ports

The Nathan Drake Collection (2015) remasters Uncharted 1–3 for PS4—optional, not separate must-play titles. Legacy of Thieves Collection (PS5 2022; PC later) remasters Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy. Buy collections instead of original PS3 discs when possible; this page keeps original ship dates on Release for history.
